Reporting to the Family Volunteer Program Manager, the Weekend Monitor & Activity Coordinator is responsible for all of the inventorying, prepping, and planning necessary for the activities throughout the week based on what the Family Volunteer Program Manager and Coordinator need. This includes but is not limited to cutting materials to complete projects, sorting materials, bundling based on the quantities needed, and making sure that activity leads are prepared with everything they could need off site. After each weekend the Weekend Monitor & Activity Coordinator is responsible for updating program staff about any issues or concerns, inventorying completed projects, reporting on what was accomplished, and updating inventory needs.
In addition to the in office work required, the Weekend Monitor & Activity Coordinator is the point of contact each weekend for all activity leads and families who are leading or attending activities across Generation SERVE. This person will field phone calls, texts, and emails that answer concerns about location, arrival time, cancellations, no-shows, etc.
In this position you will have the opportunity to learn about non-profit operations and volunteer coordination. A Generation SERVE AmeriCorps member in the position of Weekend Monitor & Activity Coordinator is someone who is excited to help families and children volunteer. They will be hyper organized, excited to learn from a team, while able to work independently. This is a 25 to 30 hour position Friday through Monday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Be the voice of Generation SERVE and the main point of contact on the weekends to troubleshoot activity attendance
- Prep weekend activities for all activity leads
- Manage inventory
- Manage and facilitate Generation SERVE group activities (training provided)
- Effectively communicate activity tasks and instructions to a diverse audience
- Facilitate short discussions about volunteerism and the service areas the projects are addressing
- Professionally represent Generation SERVE and its branded family volunteering experience
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with both children and adults
- Comfortable communicating via the phone, text, and email
- Excellent writing skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Detail oriented and extremely organized
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time
- Ability to lift activity materials up to 50 lbs
- Must have access to car/vehicle or reliable transportation
- Consent to and successfully pass a background check
WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- This position requires 30 hours per week with a 900 hour commitment from September through May 2023.
- A living stipend is paid through our AmeriCorps partner Equal Heart, with an educational bonus upon completed requirements.
- This position requires Saturday and Sunday availability, however the work outside of weekend programming has the flexibility to be commented based on your own schedule.
