Reporting to the Austin Site Director, the Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Site Director to finesse and deliver a social media communications program that engages families, promotes partners, inspires partners, and highlights Generation SERVE as the organization for family volunteering.
The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for archiving all photos shared with Generation SERVE across programs, synthesizing organizational mission with operations to craft a story across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Additionally, this person will be responsible for measuring impact and reach, in order to maximize receipt of the Generation SERVE messaging and needs.
In this position you will have the opportunity to refine a social media strategy for a well established local non-profit. A Generation SERVE AmeriCorps Member in the position of Social Media Coordinator is someone who has knowledge of marketing strategies and is excited to practice and gain experience. In this position you will be able to meet and engage with many marketing professionals, and learn by doing. This is a 25 to 30 hour position with some weekend and evening hours required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Develop and maintain a social media calendar that communicates Generation SERVE's mission, vision, work, and needs
- Design and post engaging posts
- Measure engagement
- Organize and collect videos and photos during events to use in communications
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn as a tool for communication
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to take pictures and use Google Photos to keep images organized
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time
- Must have access to car/vehicle or reliable transportation
- Consent to and successfully pass a background check
WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- This position requires 30 hours per week with a 900 hour commitment from September through May 2023.
- A living stipend is paid through our AmeriCorps partner Equal Heart, with an educational bonus upon completed requirements.
- This position will have the ability to make their own schedule with the understanding that program hours are evenings and weekends.
