Project Mentee
Youth-driven, family-supported!
Youth-driven, family-supported!
In this program for 8-12 year olds, your child will learn about service and community building with the support of a mentor and a parent/guardian. Generation SERVE Teen Leaders will be mentors and role models, remotely guiding and supporting youth service projects. We will provide participants and their mentors with information on community needs and learning tools to use at home, including virtual meetings, online curriculum, learning goals, reflection questions, and project options. Participants will work on a personal service project of their choice. At the end of the program, they will have the opportunity to share their project and their impact on the community through our website.

Fall & Spring Service Learning Program
Our Service Learning Program is offered in the fall and spring for children 8-12 years old. Youth learn about a specific community need alongside their peers, brainstorm solutions together, volunteer, and reflect on what they have learned in the program while working on a personal service project.
We offer a selection of topics that each focus on a different community need each semester. Read more about each topic area below. Serving Animals/Pets: Animal lovers study the issues that face local animal wildlife and rescued farm animals. Serving in Nature: Budding nature enthusiasts learn about the specific environmental challenges Austin faces. Serving and Peers: Compassionate kids study the issues facing marginalized youth in Central Texas. Serving and People: Young advocates learn how to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Serving with Seniors: Compassionate kids learn about the challenges facing senior citizens in our community. Serving Safety: In partnership with Colin's Hope, youth will learn how to educate the community on water safety outdoors at parks and community centers. |
Project Showcase
At the end of the Service Learning Program, participants each complete their own independent extension project, allowing them to follow their passions while making an impact as an individual. Then, each child gets to present their project at our Project Showcase!
Registration for fall 2020 will take place July 7th.
