How to Browse Available Activities

1. Access the Calendar

From your dashboard, click “View Calendar” under the Manage Volunteer Activities portal. This will take you to our live activity calendar.

2. Explore Available Activities

You’ll see a list of upcoming activities with open spots. Activities that are full will not appear to streamline your browsing experience. Each listing includes:

  • 📍 Partner Organization and Planned Activity
  • 📅 Date and Time
  • 👥 Number of Spots Still Available

3. Use Filters to Refine Your Search

On the left-hand side of the calendar, you can our filters to quickly find the opportunities that best match your family’s needs.

  • 🧭 Program Type (Family Volunteering, Teen Service Days, etc.)
  • 💻 Format (In-person, Virtual, or SERVE at Home)
  • 🗓️ Days of the Week or Date Range
  • 🧒 Age Range of your volunteers
  • 🌐 Service Area (Animal Welfare, Basic Needs, etc.)
  • 💻 Format (In-person, Virtual, or SERVE at Home)

4. Know When the Calendar Opens

  • ⏰ The calendar opens to all registered families on the 20th for the upcoming month. (For example, July’s activities will open for RSVPs on June 20.)
  • ✨ Family Sponsors receive staggered early access before the public release date.

How To RSVP on the Generation SERVE Calendar

Ready to volunteer? Follow these steps to successfully RSVP for an activity:

1. Select an Activity

  • Browse the calendar and choose an activity that fits your family’s interests.
  • Make sure there are enough available spots for everyone in your group.
  • Click the blue “Details/RSVP” button on the right side of the activity listing.

2. Review the Details

Carefully read the full activity description:

  • Confirm age requirements for all participants.
  • Review which parent program (e.g., Family Volunteering, Teen Service Days) the activity belongs to.
  • If your family meets all requirements, scroll to the bottom and click the blue “RSVP” button.

3. Fill Out the RSVP Form

At the top of the next page:

  • The account contact information will auto-fill. Please do not change this information.

For Family Volunteering Activities:

  • These activities require a minimum of 1 adult and 1 child.
  • Use the “Quantity” dropdown to select the total number of attendees from your household.

For each attendee:

  • Use the “Select a Household Member” dropdown to assign a volunteer to each spot.
  • Make sure at least one spot is filled by an adult.
  • Optionally, add an email address for each household member if you’d like them to receive RSVP-related emails.
  • Check the box to confirm that each attendees meet the age requirements listed in the activity description.

For Teen Service Days:

  • These activities are open only to youth ages 13–18 and require at least one teen RSVP.
  • Use the “Quantity” dropdown to select the number of teen household members attending.

For each spot:

  • Select a teen from your household using the dropdown.
  • Optionally, enter their email address to send RSVP updates directly to them.
  • Check the box to confirm that all participants are between 13–18 years old.

4. Optional Donation

  • You’ll have the option to make a voluntary donation to support Generation SERVE’s mission and programming
  • Our core programming on our activity calendar remains free to the public thanks to the generosity of our community.

5. Submit and Confirm

  • Once everything looks good, click the blue “RSVP” button at the bottom to finalize.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with details about the activity and your RSVP.

How to Manage RSVPS

Whether you’re updating plans or reviewing your upcoming volunteer commitments, managing your Generation SERVE RSVPs is easy. Follow the steps below to view or cancel RSVPs linked to your volunteer account.

✅ Access Your RSVP Records

  • From your dashboard, click “Manage RSVP Records” under the Manage Volunteer Activities portal. This will open a full list of all activities you’ve RSVP’d to using the email address currently logged in.
  • 🔐 Important: RSVP records are linked to the email address used to make the original booking. Make sure you’re logged in with the same account that placed the RSVP.

🔍 How to View Your Upcoming RSVPs

  • The RSVP records page displays all RSVPs from March 2024 forward, including canceled, past, and upcoming reservations.
  • The table is sorted by the RSVP Date (the date you made the booking), not the activity date.
  • To find your upcoming volunteer events, check the “Activity Date” column in the table.

❌ How to Cancel an RSVP

After making sure you’re logged in to your dashboard using the same account that placed the RSVP, follow these steps:

  • Go to the “Manage RSVP Records” page.
  • Find the activity you wish to cancel and click the blue title in the Activity column.
  • On the next screen, scroll to the bottom and click “Cancel RSVP.”
  • A brief confirmation message will flash on the screen.
  • Return to your RSVP records and confirm the Status for that activity now reads “Canceled.”
  • ⚠️ Please cancel RSVPs as early as possible to free up space for other volunteers and help our nonprofit partners plan effectively.

How to Access Volunteer Reports

Generation SERVE makes it easy for families to track, download, and print verified volunteer service records for each household member.

🧭 Navigate to Volunteer Records

From your dashboard, scroll to the Manage Household Records section and click “View Volunteer Records.” This will take you to a list of all household members who have completed service hours through Generation SERVE.

👤 View Individual Service Records

Under the Volunteer Service Records section, click on the name of the volunteer whose records you want to access.

The Volunteer Service Record is an official document on Generation SERVE letterhead that includes:

  • The volunteer’s name and email address
  • Total Volunteer Hours (lifetime)
  • PVSA Service Year totals (Note: subject to change if the PVSA program resumes)
  • A summary of the 25 most recent activities
  • The signature of our Executive Director
  • This report is suitable for most award, school, and organizational documentation needs.

📜 View Full Volunteer History

Click “View Full Volunteer History” for an additional comprehensive listing of all activities completed or verified through Generation SERVE — perfect for detailed tracking or recordkeeping in addition to the main record.

To print or save any report:

  • Click the print icon in the top-right corner of your dashboard
  • Choose to either print a hard copy or save as a PDF
