Fee Assistance Program for All Families

Supporting families of all income levels through financial aid and flexible payment options for our curriculum-based programs.

What is Fee Assistance?

We strive to make our programs accessible to all families, no matter their income level. Most of our programs, including our Family Volunteering Program, are free and open to the public. However, our more complex, curriculum-based programs that give kids a deeper dive into service include a program fee to help cover our costs. While these fees are essential to creating impactful, high-quality programs, we feel strongly that a family’s financial situation should not be a barrier to the positive outcomes a child can gain from our Little Helpers, Service Learning and Youth Leadership Programs. That’s why we offer fee assistance for families with a demonstrated financial need. We also offer payment plans to any family who requests one.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re committed to making our programs accessible to all families regardless of income level. Read our questions and answers around the fee assistance program below.
  • What programs do you offer fee assistance for?

We offer fee assistance for our three fee-based programs: Little Helpers Learn & Play, Service Learning and Youth Leadership. Fee assistance is available for families with a demonstrated financial need.

  • How much of the program cost does fee assistance cover?

Families approved for fee assistance will have the full cost of their program fee covered.

  • How do I apply for fee assistance?

After registering for one of our fee-based programs, you can fill out our Fee Assistance Form. After that form is submitted, you'll need to email one of our required eligibility documents (either a free/reduced lunch qualification letter, Lonestar Benefits, a tax return, or a description of why your family is requesting temporary assistance) to Program Coordinator Carol McHorse at carol@generationserve.org.

Carol will reach out afterwards to notify you about whether your family was approved for fee assistance or not. You may reach out to Carol with any additional questions or concerns.

  • How do I donate to your fee assistance fund?

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to our Fee Assistance Fund, you can do so here. That gift will be redistributed to cover program fees for families unable to afford the full cost.

If you are already making a payment for one of our fee-based programs, you can make a payment larger than the program fee and every extra dollar will be added to our Fee Assistance Fund as a tax-deductible gift.

  • Will requesting fee assistance factor into my acceptance into your programs?

No. A family's financial status is never considered when registering and applying to our programs.

For our Service Learning and Little Helpers Programs, registration is first come, first served.

For our Youth Leadership Programs, applicants are reviewed based on the merits of their application, references, ability to attend the program dates and group interview performance.

  • What is a payment plan?

We offer families the ability to pay program fees in installments if they request that option.

  • How do I request a payment plan?

When you receive the payment link for a fee-based program, please let us know you would like to utilize a payment plan and we will help you set up recurring payments. Please reach out to info@generationserve.org to request a payment plan.
