Change can be difficult, but often necessary to survive and thrive.  By now, you have most likely heard that Little Helping Hands is now Generation SERVE. After keeping it to ourselves for months, we are thrilled to share it with everyone and move forward under our new name! Does it mean we are changing our programs? No. Our Family Volunteering, Service Learning, and Youth Leadership Programs are keeping kids engaged in service from early childhood through their teen years and we are going to continue to grow and enhance these programs to keep Austin youth on a service pathway toward lifelong community involvement and leadership!

Over the past eight years, our generous city has shown us that we don’t have to think small – we can impact generations of youth with our programs. The interest and enthusiasm among Austin families for giving back to the community is incredible. We have quickly learned that by introducing Austin children to service at a young age and keeping them engaged in volunteerism, we are helping to shape our community of tomorrow – and that is exciting! That is what our new name, Generation SERVE, means to us – yes, we are still getting little hands busy volunteering, but we are now doing much more than that – along with amazing parents and caregivers, we are teaching tomorrow’s leaders and citizens how to be more kind, compassionate, hard-working, and motivated to make a difference.

The Generation SERVE staff is inspired by our volunteer families every day. Thank you for making our community and world a better place and for sharing our vision – to develop generations of community-minded leaders and citizens!
